Governor Scott to write for Huffington Post

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Governor Rick Scott has agreed to write blogs for the Huffington Post. He will use the opportunity to promote new jobs and success stories here in Florida.

But the tone of his blogs may clash with the message that the Romney campaign continues to press in Florida.

Mitt Romney has stressed the weak economy in Florida, which he ties to President Obama, and his campaign released a new ad that continues to focus on Florida's problems. In the ad, the narrator says "Four years ago, Barack Obama was concerned about Florida's economy. But under President Obama, there's been 8.6 percent unemployment, record foreclosures, and 600,000 more Floridians in poverty."

As Romney is turning up the heat on President Obama by stressing Florida's problems, progressive commentator Arianna Huffington invited Governor Scott to explain how Florida is improving, and how small businesses are succeeding.

Governor Scott accepted the invitation. A spokesman for Governor Scott said his submissions will focus on job creation and education. Scott has not yet decided how many blogs he will write.
