TAMPA (FOX 13) -

O.J. Murdock was one of the fastest high school players to come out of the Bay Area in a long time.  He was about to start his second season with the Tennessee Titans.  But his local friends and family will be gathering for his funeral this weekend.

Police say Murdock shot himself in his car in front of Middleton High School in Tampa, where he was once a standout wide receiver.

Friends, family, and fans held a candlelight vigil earlier in the week.

Now, we've learned his funeral is Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Tabernacle in Thonotosassa.  His visitation is Friday at the church from 5 to 8 p.m.
