TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Concerns about someone with a possible gun led authorities to evacuate The Ritz Theater in Ybor City Monday night.

Seventh Avenue was shut down as hundreds of people streamed out of the venue.

According to the Tampa Police Department, a customer overheard two people talking about a plan to start shooting during the concert.

Management called police, and the theater was evacuated.

From around 6 p.m. to 7:40 p.m., nearly 1,000 people waited along 7th Avenue while police searched the building.

No guns or weapons were found. Officers patted everyone down before they were allowed back in, and the event resumed.
