Registered voters in Hillsborough County can begin casting their ballots on Monday for the 2012 Primary Election.
TAMPA (FOX 13) -
Early voting for the 2012 Primary Election gets underway Monday in Hillsborough County.
Unlike voting on Election Day in November, early vote allows all eligible voters to cast their ballots at any of the 15 approved sites in Hillsborough County.
For the primary, only voters who are registered with a political party – Republican or Democrat – can vote for their party's candidates.
All registered voters, however, can cast ballots in the non-partisan races such as school board and judicial posts.
All registered voters are allowed to cast ballots in races where the primary winner will not have any opposition in November. For example, this scenario will take place in the Hillsborough County Commission, District 2 and House District 61 races.
Early voting ends Saturday, Aug. 11. Hours of operation vary depending on precinct location.
