A 28-year-old Pinellas County man was injured badly early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on 5th Ave. North in St. Petersburg.

Sean Moore was transported to Bayfront Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.

The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. near the intersection of 22nd St. North.

According to a St. Petersburg Police Department report Kristal Messenmacher was traveling west on 5th Ave. in her 2008 Toyota Sports Utility Vehicle when she attempted to make a left turn onto 22nd St. North.

Moore was heading east on 5th Ave. on his Triumph motorcycle in the median lane when the SUV appeared in front of him.

The motorcycle collided with front passenger side of Messenmacher's vehicle. Moore was ejected from the bike and went through the windshield of the SUV.

Fortunately he was wearing a helmet that covered his face.

Messenmacher, a 29-year-old St. Pete resident, was not injured in the crash.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
