APOLLO BEACH (FOX 13) -

Detectives in Hillsborough County are searching for a helmet wearing bank robbery suspect who arrived at the scene of the crime Friday morning on a red bicycle.

He left without the bike but fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. at the TD Bank location at 6176 North US Highway 41 in Apollo Beach.

According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report the unidentified black male entered the bank sporting a motorcycle helmet that completely covered his face. The suspect demanded money from a teller and jumped over a counter to get it.

He was last seen running away from the bank.

Witnesses say the suspect is between 25 and 30 years of age, stands 6' to 6'2'' tall and has a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a black/blue/white motorcycle helmet and a charcoal gray jacket with blue stripes.

He was also wearing charcoal gray gloves, black shorts with gray stripes, black socks and white tennis shoes.

A weapon was not seen.
