SARASOTA (FOX 13) -

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has issued an alert for a missing juvenile who was last seen in the custody of her biological father Saturday morning.

Emmelia Ward, 10, lives with her maternal grandparents at a home on Peacock Rd. in Sarasota.

According to a SCSO report Keller J. Ward showed up at that residence just after 9 a.m. and became involved in an altercation with the grandfather. Ward, 36, then escorted the child to his vehicle and quickly fled the area.

Investigators say the grandparents have been caring for the child for the past year. The suspicious incident has the little girl's grandparents and law enforcement concerned for her safety.

There is also a civil order related to Keller's visitation with the juvenile.

Jessica A. Ward, 36, is also with the missing girl and her father investigators say.

Emmelia was last seen wearing a bright red shirt with the word ‘Peace' written across the front and a black/blue skirt. She is 4'9'' tall and weighs 76 pounds; she has shoulder length brown hair.

The Kellers left the scene in a gray colored Sports Utility Vehicle. If you have any information on Emmelia Ward's location please contact the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
