Police are looking for four men who allegedly posed as police officers in an attempt to rob a jewelry store.
It happened at Marcelo's Jewelry store on West Columbus Drive around 8 a.m. Police said an employee exchanged gunfire with the men, who came inside dressed in police gear.
"I heard the ‘Pow! Pow! Pow!,' just like that," said nearby business owner Iris Rodriguez. "I didn't think anything of it. I thought it was a trash can or something next door. And a cop came in and told me there was a shooting next door at the jewelry store."
The men had black shirts and hats with the word "police" on them, investigators said.
Owner Marcelo Suarez was able to grab his 9 mm and start shooting. Gunshots were fired back and forth. Fortunately, Suarez wasn't hit, but it appears in the video one of the suspects may have taken a round.
"I think my gun probably saved my life," Suarez said. "My concealed weapons permit, if I wouldn't have had my concealed weapons permit, I wouldn't be here right now. They shot at me two times. They weren't playing," Suarez said.
Officers say the Saturn was blue or green, and they are reviewing surveillance video of incident to get a better description of the men.
