The Scottish Premier League's Celtic Football Club is exporting its special brand of soccer to Florida. The European soccer powerhouse is partnering with Gulf Coast United Youth Soccer, establishing Celtic FC Florida.

The affiliation means that Bay Area players will receive the same training methods and coaching as youngsters in Scotland.

The iconic green and white uniforms are already a hit on the Gulf Coast United fields.

Jimmy McDonald, the director of coaching for Gulf Coast United, says one day we may see a Florida-born player gracing the pitch at Celtic Park in Glasgow.

"Our goal is to one day have someone playing for Celtic," McDonald said. "That's a lofty goal. But if we can get players in college, playing in high school, college, and one or two to play pro, that's wonderful."

The affiliation becomes official on August 1, and campers are currently getting instruction from Celtic Youth Academy coaches from Scotland.
