CLEARWATER (FOX 13) -
It is a treat anytime you get to see these gentle giants, but a bunch of people on the Courtney Campbell Causeway got to see quite a gathering earlier tonight.
A group of manatees came up along the shoreline for a little, ahem, frolicking in the water.
Lots of people driving along the Clearwater side of the causeway stopped to take a look. Eventually police had to put up tape to make sure no one waded out into the water to bother them.
At one point, there were reportedly up to 30 of the big animals rolling around in the water along the beach.
