TAMPA (FOX 13) -
An Arizona man was arrested for traveling to Tampa with the intention
of having a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl, deputies said.
Officers at Tampa
International Airport first nabbed 33-year-old Jonathan David Lane, who
deputies say flew all the way from Bullhead City, Az., to meet with the girl.
The sheriff's
office says the two met online.
In the process, deputies say Lane sent lewd and
lascivious messages via computer and cell phone. Deputies also say
Lane sent lewd pictures of himself.
The victim
purchased a plane ticket for Lane using her grandmother's credit card, and the
girl's father was able to intercept e-mail messages from the man, the sheriff's
office said.
Through their
investigation, deputies concluded that Lane intended to engage in sexual
intercourse with the girl here in Tampa.
Lane was taken in
by TIA police and handed over to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
