BRADENTON (FOX 13) -

A 17-year-old shot over the weekend has died from his injuries, Bradenton police said Monday morning.

According to detectives, Fredrick Lenard Edwards died late Sunday night. He was shot Saturday in east Bradenton around 6:30 p.m., and at this point police are not releasing a lot of details.

The shooting happened in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue East. Officers detained three people at the scene. Two were released and another was detained because of an outstanding warrant.

Over the weekend detectives said they were looking for 21-year-old Kwame J. Henri, who may have had more information on the shooting. But now police say they're no longer interested in speaking with him.

However, detectives say they will continue their investigation this week.
