
Bradenton Police want to speak with Henri, 21, about Saturday's shooting that left a teen in critical condition.Detectives with the Bradenton Police Department are investigating the shooting of a 17-year-old boy.
The incident occurred just after 6:30 PM Saturday in East Bradenton. The unidentified victim was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The teen suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
According to a BPD report officers were dispatched to the 500 block of 2nd Ave. East in response to a person shot called. Before authorities arrived an unidentified person drove the victim to MMH, turned him over to medical personnel and fled the scene.
Officers initially detained three individuals at the scene of the crime. Two of them were questioned and released by a third – 21-year-old Keith V. Brooks of Bradenton – was detained due to an outstanding warrant out of Sarasota County.
He was booked into the Manatee County Jail and released early Sunday after posting a bond of $10,000.
In relation to the shooting the Bradenton Police are attempting to locate Kwame J. Henri, a 21-year-old Bradenton man. Investigators believe he may have pertinent information about this crime.
Henri is no stranger to law enforcement in Manatee County. In January he was charged in the shooting death of his cousin – 19-year-old Kenya Cox.
In April prosecutors dropped the charge.
