When Liz Frost returned to her Clearwater home Saturday morning she found an alarming scene.
Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies were everywhere and crime scene tape surrounded a neighbor's home.
"I came home and there was police down the road," Frost explained. "It was a little shocking."
Adrianne Robert, a 29-year-old graphic artist, was found dead inside her condo.
Investigators say the deceased woman's roommate came home just after 3 AM to find her unresponsive. Paramedics pronounced her dead a short time later.
Authorities have not released a cause of death. They will only say Robert's passing is suspicious and they are investigating.
Marija Hannen lives two doors down from where Robert was found.
"[It's] one of those things," she said. "You just never know when something bad is going to happen."
She says Robert and her roommate mostly kept to themselves.
"I just saw them coming in and going out," Hannen said. "Sometimes I would see them walking their dog or jogging. That's it."
The suspicious death has jolted the normally quiet Clearwater complex and has residents like Hannen thinking safety first.
"It makes me think about being more careful," she said.
Frost is also considering making a few changes in regards to safety.
"Yeah, making sure my doors are locked," Frost said. "I'll be a little more careful and looking to see over my shoulder when I'm out running."
She'll also lean on a little bit on her four-legged security guard.
Until the mystery is solved her dog Brutus will be on fulltime watch making sure everything is okay.
Frost: "He's ready; he's my little protector."
Investigators say they are trying to piece together what happened prior to Robert being discovered in hopes of finding out what caused her death.
The official cause of death has not yet been determined as the investigation continues.
