Two convicted felons arrested last year for a home invasion/robbery in Manatee County were convicted Friday following a week-long trial in Bradenton.
Kyle B. Evans, 24, and Charles C. Williams, 37, are scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
Evans was convicted one count of armed kidnapping and one count of armed home invasion robbery. Williams was found guilty on armed kidnapping and armed home invasion robbery with a firearm charge.
Both suspects have extensive criminal records in Manatee County. A third suspect, Sheena Robinson, is slated to stand trial on similar charges in September.
According to a Palmetto Police Department report the crime occurred in the early morning hours of September 19, 2011 at a residence in the 1200 block of 11th Ave. West.
Investigators say the three suspects forced their way into the home, tied up the lone occupant and made off with several electronic devices, some baseball equipment and cards.
The victim was struck once in the back of the head by one of the suspects.
Williams and Robinson were arrested several hours later. Evans was eventually identified as the third suspect and arrested a few days later.
Evans prior arrests include sale and manufacturing of cocaine and possession of a controlled substance. Williams has served two stints in the state prison system on a variety of charges including battery, aggravated battery and fleeing to elude.
