An argument over a woman turned deadly early Saturday morning at a bar in the Carrollwood-Northdale area of Tampa.
Pablo Bonilla, 23, suffered several gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
A second unidentified person was also hit in the hail of bullets and was transported for treatment of a non life-threatening injury.
According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report deputies were dispatched to the Whiskey Park North Bar in the 11000 block of North Dale Mabry Highway just after 3 AM in response to a shots fired call.
Investigators say the incident began when the deceased and another man got into a verbal altercation over Bonilla's girlfriend. The men were separated before the situation escalated further.
After the bar closed, Bonilla and the unidentified female and several other patrons were standing in the parking lot when a vehicle pulled up, a suspect got out and opened fire.
Emergency medical personnel arrived and treated the wounded and prepared them for transport. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.
HCSO detectives and crime scene technicians spent several hours at the scene interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence.
