TAMPA (FOX 13) -

A University of South Florida college student and her precious pomeranian were reunited after their story aired on FOX 13 Monday night.

The student, Melanie Kantor, who is studying for medical school, told us three weeks ago her dog Oscita disappeared after her apartment was robbed in the Temple Terrace area.

She had been looking for her dog for weeks and feared she may never see it again. But after seeing the story, someone in Temple Terrace came forward with the dog.

A woman said she saw Oscita recently on the city streets, and it was nearly struck by a car. The woman said she then picked it up and cared for it.

In June, deputies say Kantor's apartment was burglarized. Her door was kicked in and jewelry and electronics were taken. The rear sliding glass door was found to be open as well.

The burglar has not been found.
