TAMPA (FOX 13) -
Paying rent can drain your budget, and new numbers reveal
the price of rent went up during the second quarter of this year, ending just a
few days ago.
We did a little checking around the Bay area.
For a three
bedroom apartment in Tampa,
the average rent is $1,130. The average in Sarasota
is $40 more than that, and in Lakeland,
the average price for a three bedroom place is $810.
The average rent overall is up around $1,100, and that's the
highest it's been since 2007.
The reason: Vacancy rates have hit a new 10-year
low, with number now around 5 percent.
