If you already think Polk County has a little dose of the wild west in it, you may be even more convinced now.
Polk Sheriff Grady Judd and his top men are on a jaw-dropping poster. They are dressed as good guy gun slingers, in western hats and long trench coats, with smoke rising in the background. The poster is a take off on the classic western movie "Tombstone."
The posters are being sold to benefit Polk Sheriff's Charities. The first run of 2,200 sold out quickly. Momentum really picked up after the sheriff's office put the poster on its Facebook page.
"Within days, the remaining posters were gone," said Polk Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carrie Eleazer.
The posters were selling for $5 each. Another shipment will be coming in soon. Money raised goes to the Polk Sheriff's Charities.
Although some of Judd's critics say he is too quick to grab the media spotlight, he claims "Untrue!"
"What percentage is Grady ego?" we asked.
"One hundred percent is what the sheriff's office does," Judd responded.
