A Largo teenager who suffered a gunshot wound to the head while engaging in a game of ‘Russian Roulette' with three friends has died.
Thorin R. Montgomery, 17, was pronounced dead early Sunday morning at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
He was transported there on Friday night after emergency service personnel and law enforcement were dispatched to 11133 111th Way in Largo at approximately 7:45 PM.
Montgomery had shot himself in the head and was airlifted by helicopter to BMC.
Detectives say the deceased and three other teens – ages 19, 18 and 16 – were playing ‘Russian Roulette' on the back porch of the home at the time of the incident.
Montgomery went first and the gun discharged striking him in the head. The Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy on Montgomery to determine the exact cause of death.
The investigation into the how and why the shooting occurred continues.
