Two more facing charges in Pinellas prostitution case

Authorities in Pinellas County have made two more arrests in connection with a juvenile prostitution case that came to light in May.

Mikki Lightsey Pitts and Michael Bowers had charges filed against them late Thursday.

Pitts, 49, is the wife of the man originally charged in the case – James Garrett Perdue. He was arrested on a variety of charges including procuring a person under 18 for prostitution on May 23.

According to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office report Pitts is charged with two counts of procuring a minor for prostitution.

Bowers, 18, was already in the Pinellas County Jail on an unrelated burglary charge. He is facing one count of procuring a minor for prostitution.

Detectives say during the course of the investigation against Perdue, 62, evidence surfaced that both Bowers and Pitts assisted in the alleged crimes.

They also attempted to help two of Perdue's victims.

Investigators say Bowers took photos of the victims that were used in online advertisements. He also allegedly provided security for the victims when went on appointments.

Pitts was booked into the Pinellas County Jail where she is being held on a bond of $10,000.

Bowers has been behind bars since April and Perdue remains jailed since his arrest in May.
