
Authorities in Citrus County have declared a state of emergency, and are warning residents to watch for flooding.
They say flooding could occur in coastal areas at high tide, which is at 9:56 p.m. Tuesday and 10:25 a.m. Wednesday.
A special need shelter has been opened at the Renaissance Center in Lecanto at 3630 West Educational Path, and a pet-friendly/general population shelter located at Lecanto Primary School at 3790 W. Educational Path, Lecanto.
Both shelters will open at 7:00 p.m. tonight.
County sandbag distribution sites will remain open until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the following locations:
The sandbag pick-up located at the Crystal River Fire Station at 650 NW 3rd Ave is open 24 hours.
