Several roads closed in Hernando County

As Tropical Storm Debby makes landfall, authorities in Hernando County are keeping a close eye on conditions there.

They are warning residents near the Withlacoochee River that the water may rise to dangerous levels by Friday afternoon.

The sheriff's office put out the following list of closed roads:

  • Spring Hill Drive from the Hernando County Jail to FDOT Office (Flooding)
  • Mariner Bv. from Little St. to Claymore St. (Sinkhole)
  • Quality Dr. from Spring Hill Regional Hospital to Suncoast Elementary School
  • Claymore St. at Keeport Dr. (Sinkhole)
  • Citrus Way at US98 (Flooding)
  • Epply Dr. at Trudy Ln. (Flooding)
  • Hillandale Ave. From Marysville St. to Abbeyville St.
  • Old Crystal River Rd. at Ajax St. (Flooding)
  • Richloam Clay Sink Rd. at Cortez Bv. (SR50) (Tree down)
  • Jasmine Rd. from Wesleyan Village to Old Jasmine Rd. (Flooding)
  • Nancy Dr. adjacent to DAV (Flooding)
  • Turkey Trott Ln.
  • Croom Rd. from Broad St. east to Mcintyre Rd. (Flooding)
  • Clinton Dr. from Cortez Bv. to Providence Bv. (Flooding)
  • Rosewood Dr. at Lynbrook Ln. (Flooding)
  • The Suncoast Parkway from Cortez Bv. north to US 98 (Flooding)
  • Quarterhorse Ln. (Flooding)

They put out a boil-water notice because of a main break in the area of 5279 Utopia Place.

All residents are encouraged to report damages to the Emergency Operations Center at (352) 754-4083.
