TAMPA (FOX 13) -
President Barack Obama hoped to make a memorable arrival at a campaign stop in Tampa on Friday. He succeeded -- sort of.
After a pre-produced video got the crowd amped up with chants of "fired up; ready to go," the president took to the stage at Hillsborough Community College.
But he tripped on his way up the stairs, then caught himself before hitting the floor. He laughed it off as he walked the rest of the way to the podium and smoothly began delivering his remarks about manufacturing and jobs.
"I'm so fired up, I almost missed the stage," the president told the crowd seconds later, to applause. "I couldn't wait to get out here!"
