President Barack Obama has wrapped up a quick campaign stop here in the Bay Area.

Air Force One touched down under gray skies this afternoon ahead of the president's appearance at what his campaign calls a "grassroots event" at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa.

Mayor Bob Buckhorn and other local leaders greeted him at the airport.

The president spoke for about 45 minutes, touching on a variety of campaign themes, including the role of manufacturing in job creation.

The stop in Tampa was a brief one. Obama flew in from Orlando, where he addressed the annual conference of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials. He was expected to fly out this evening.

Mitt Romney, the president's opponent in this fall's election, spoke at the Orlando conference yesterday.
