Deputies have taken three people into custody after a Seffner standoff that began with a carjacking early this morning.
It all started around 1:15 a.m. when a woman called 911 from the Lakeshore Club Apartments on North Himes to report that a man with a gun robbed her of her 2011 Dodge Magnum and purse.
Deputies spotted the stolen car four hours later in the area of Lloyd Street and Old E. Hillsborough. They followed it until it headed down Valencia Drive, which is a dead end.
But when deputies tried to set up a road block there, they say the driver rammed two patrol cars in an escape attempt before fleeing on foot.
The driver was identified as 26-year-old Marvin B. Davy.
K9 deputies tracked him to a home near Grove Lane and Highway 579, and the standoff ensued.
People in nearby homes were told to evacuate as negotiators and the SWAT team arrived on the scene.
Just after 9 a.m., deputies say two people voluntarily came out of the home.
Not long after that, the SWAT team stormed the house and came out with Marvin Davy.
Police are working to determine how all three were involved in the carjacking.
Davy faces charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and grand theft auto. Additional charges are pending.
