A Pasco county man was arrested after his 14-month-old son nearly drowned in a canal behind their home.
Witnesses told deputies Kevin Geddes appeared to be drunk, and was swinging his son in the yard, when he fell into the canal behind their home.
According to a police report, Geddes refused witnesses offers to help lift the boy to safety. They said the boy was taking in water, and appeared to be drowning. A witness finally jumped in to rescued the child.
He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. Geddes is charged with Aggravated Child Abuse.
