ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -
Vice President Joe Biden adddressed the nation's mayors at the annual U.S. Conference of Mayors conference at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort in Orlando.
Biden is urging a bipartisan approach for fixing the nation's urban problems and told the nation's mayors that party politics should be set aside when figuring out how to fund cities' infrastructure and limit the devastation of the nationwide foreclosure crisis.
Despite the call for bipartisanship, Biden blamed Republicans in Congress for failing to pass a $109 billion transportation bill that could fund construction jobs around the country.
Biden also touted the Obama administration's 2009 Recovery Act. He said it helped mayors keep police officers on the street and hospitals open.
