The perfect way to end high school – literally

The perfect way to end high school – literally

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

It's awfully hard to be perfect – but not for nine recent high school graduates.

The group from different Hillsborough County schools scored a perfect attendance.

But we're not talking this past year. We're talking about kindergarten through senior year.

They never missed a single day.

"There must be something in the water," Heather Koch of King High School said about the achievement. "I don't know, just my mom always telling us to go to school, encouraging us, yes."

Even through sick days, the students say they kept pushing.

"For sure, I've been sick but I just pushed through and woke up," Durant's Samuel Nowakowski said. "I didn't want all that make-up work. I'm a dedicated person, and I wanted to make sure I cam every day."

But preventing make-up work wasn't the only perk.

Each of these nine students was awarded $500 in savings from Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union, and they got laptop computers from Toyota of Tampa Bay.

They're also in the running to win a car from Toyota, which will be given away Saturday.
