A Maryland-based private sector insurance executive and the head of the California Earthquake Authority are the finalists to become president of Florida's Citizens Property Insurance Corp.
The finalists are Glenn Pomeroy from Sacramento, Calif. and Barry Gilway from Cockeysville, Md. Interim Citizens' president Tom Grady was not among the final three ranked by the presidential search committee.
Citizens board chairman Carlos Lacasa said he's delighted with the two finalists and expects to name the new president later Wednesday.
Citizens is the state's largest property insurer for businesses and home owners with roughly 1.5 million policyholders. It's become more than the insurer of last resort that it was intended to be when created a decade ago.
Lacasa said there would be no discussion of increasing rates at the meeting.
