Highlands County investigators are still looking for two men in connection to the gruesome murder of a 21-year-old man over the weekend.
Aaron Doty got into a fight at a party at a duplex in Sebring and was severely beaten. On Monday, investigators found his burned body in a wooded area nearby.
"I don't know that there are words to describe what we are feeling right now," the victim's uncle, Chris Doty, told FOX 13 on Tuesday.
Chris says the Doty family is especially disturbed because not one of the people at the party bothered to call 911.
Detectives are now looking for two men who lived in the house on Granada Blvd. where the party took place. They are searching for Jonathan Rodriguez, an ex-con who just got out of prison, and his roommate, Kenneth Felipe. Both are facing second-degree murder charges and more.
Detectives suspect the two may still be in the area.
This especially gruesome and senseless crime is taking its toll on an area where murders are few and far between.
"It seems so unreal," said Meri Littlefield, who grew up with Doty. "It isn't fair. It isn't right."
Detectives say anyone with information about the murder should call Heartland Crimestoppers at 1 (800) 226-TIPS.
