The Pasco Country Sheriff's Office is putting 10 abused and neglected horses up for sale Tuesday.
The horses were taken May 9 during an investigation at a residence.
A deputy found them in dismal conditions. They had been neglected and poorly fed, according to an affidavit.
The sheriff's office is taking the horses to the Sumter County Farmer's Market, where at noon they will be offered up to the highest bidder.
Proceeds from the sale will be used to refund the county's cost in feeding and caring for the horses, the sheriff's office said.
