Remember when you had to lug your heavy book bag to school? Well say goodbye to those days, thanks to a new invention that puts your books on wheels.
The simplicity of this idea is "What's Right With Tampa Bay."
On the outside, it looks like a normal skateboard.
"This is the skatecase," explained its inventor Alexei Novitsky. "It's a fully ride-able, fully functional skateboard that you can actually open up and put your things inside."
"I got bored of carrying a backpack and a skateboard," he added, "So basically I decided to put the two together and make a skateboard that you could actually put your stuff inside for school."
"We have a template. Whatever board you want. Then we cut out. The next step after we cut it is to sand it down. After we sand it down, we remove the inners so that you can put stuff inside it. Then we'll put the top and the bottom together and then after that the interior gets put on, the paint gets put on, we do your latches and your handles, we throw your trucks and wheels on and your grip tape and you're good to go."
So who buys the skatecase?
"We've had college students buy them as well as like 8 and 9 year olds buy them," he said.
Despite all the jumps, your stuff will stay safe.
"It has a shock-absorbent interior so you can put whatever you want inside," Alexei said."Notebooks, pens, pencils, calculator, wallet, keys, cell phones, all your accessories really."
It literally takes the weight off your shoulders as you enjoy the ride.
The custom skateboards can cost anywhere from $160 - $280. For more information, check out this link: http://loosheslabs.com/
