The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are stepping in to save the day for a local youth football team, scoring a touchdown with an $11,000 donation.
Last week, we told you how the Highland Pines Cougars and the Carrollwood Cardinals had all sorts of stuff stolen – things like helmets, shoulder pads and footballs.
It put the football season in jeopardy, with the teams unable to raise money to buy new gear.
But Monday the Bucs are going to donate $11,000 to buy new equipment.
They'll also invite the kids to be official flag runners during a preseason game in August against the New England Patriots.
Tampa Police don't have any suspects yet and don't know yet if the two
break-ins are related.
