A 41-year-old Riverview man was killed Saturday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash near the intersection of Columbus Dr. East and Interstate 4 in Tampa.
Ramon Jaime Ortiz-Velazquez was pronounced dead at the scene just after 3PM.
According to a Tampa Police Department report Ortiz-Velazquez was traveling southeast on Columbus when he ran a red light.
His black Ford pick-up truck was struck on the passenger side by Buick driven by Iziah Wyche of Temple Terrace who was exiting I-4 east.
The truck rolled several times and struck a traffic light support post, trapping Ortiz-Velazquez inside. Wyche's vehicle spun and hit a third vehicle, a Scion driven by Nina Clark of Tampa.
Wyche suffered a minor injury and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Clark was not hurt.
Emergency service personnel from Tampa Fire responded but could not assist the driver of the pick-up truck.
