ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -

A 28-year-old Pinellas County man died Saturday from injuries suffered in a scooter crash on 30th Ave. North in St. Petersburg.

Gregory Alan McGlamery was transported to Bayfront Medical Center where he later died.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:15 PM; McGlamery died at 2:22 PM.

According to a St. Petersburg Police Department report McGlamery was traveling west on a 2006 Vento motor scooter approaching the 34th St. Intersection.

Investigators say he accelerated through a red light and was driving erratically when he struck the north curb of 30th Ave. North in the 3600 block.

The scooter went over the curb and McGlamery's upper body struck a bus stop sign. He was ejected from the vehicle and onto the pavement.

It is not yet known if alcohol played a factor in the crash as the investigation continues. McGlamery was not wearing a helmet and his driver's license was suspended due to a DUI investigation stemming from an April 21st incident.
