A witness told police Gardner was trying to gain access to a friend's locked condo when she fell early Saturday morning.
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -
A 24-year-old Pinellas County woman dropped to her death early Saturday morning while attempting to gain access to a friend's locked condominium in St. Petersburg.
Alexandra Gardner was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1:30 AM.
The incident occurred at the Madison at St. Pete complex in the 100 block of 4th Ave. South.
According to a St. Petersburg Police Department report Gardner was on a 3rd-floor balcony when she lost her balance and fell.
Investigators say a friend of the deceased attempted to save her but lost her grip. A witness told police Gardner was trying to get into a friend's residence at the time of the fatal mishap.
An official cause of death with be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office.
No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
