Preeper, 23, is being held on a bond of $50,000.A 23-year-old Port Richey man is behind bars following his arrest Friday on aggravated child abuse charges.
Christopher Curtis Preeper was booked into the Land O' Lakes Detention facility where he is being held on a bond of $50,000.
According to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report deputies were dispatched to the suspect's residence just after noon Friday.
When they arrived they spoke with the mother of a six-month-old child. She allegedly told investigators that Preeper became upset because the baby was crying.
The suspect picked up the toddler and began to shake it hard the mother stated. The baby would not stop crying so Preeper spanked the child on the rear end.
His fingernails cut the child's skin and caused it to bleed.
After Preeper was read his Miranda Rights he allegedly admitted to shaking and spanking the child.
He is no stranger to law enforcement with three prior arrests in Pasco County. Preeper's previous charges include grand theft, burglary and violation or probation.
