TAMPA (FOX 13) -

A 9-year-old called 911 and helped officers catch a man who tried to rob an ice cream truck driver at his home Tuesday night, police said.

According to police, 37-year-old Desmond Pringley was beaten by a pair of men who knocked on his door to "ask about his ice cream truck."

But the men forced their way into the home, but during the attack, Pringley's son managed to dial 911, giving dispatchers the suspects' description.

Officers were able to locate and arrest Luis Alberto Morales, 18, of Thonotosassa.

The other suspect is still on the run.

He's described as a Hispanic male who is 6-foot and approximately 170 pounds. He's possibly in his late 20s and was last seen wearing an orange dress shirt and black pants.
