Showers, storms head into Bay area

Posted: Updated:

Showers and thunderstorms were developing offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday morning, making its way toward the Bay area.

The heaviest of weather, however, should miss us and head into central and east South Florida, FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg said.

Still, it would be best to grab an umbrella and take a few extra minutes before heading out the door.

"This is going to be a setup that I think is almost exactly what we had yesterday," Osterberg said. "Some light rain, then some heavier rain will move onshore, stabilize the atmosphere, so just plan on an unsettled day. It's not going to rain every minute, but at anytime you might pickup a shower or thunderstorm."
