Shots fired during Bradenton home invasion

BRADENTON (FOX 13) -

Detectives with the Manatee County Sheriff's are attempting to locate a pair of home invasion suspects.

The alleged crime occurred at 11:20 PM at a residence in the 1100 block of Orlando Ave. in Bradenton.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene after several people in the neighborhood called 9-1-1 after hearing gunshots.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report Casey Dalton and Shyla Messner-Fletcher were relaxing in their home when they suddenly heard a knock at the door.

One of the suspects forced his way into the home while the other fired a shot through the door as Dalton, 21, pushed it shut. Fortunately nobody was hit by the bullet.

The pair then fled in an unknown direction. Both men were wearing masks and were armed with handguns. No other description is available.

Several MCSO units were dispatched the location but were unable to locate the pair. They are still on the loose and are considered armed and dangerous.
