DAVENPORT (FOX 13) -

An accident shut down Interstate 4 in Polk County Monday afternoon.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. near the U.S. 27 exit.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a driver in a truck hauling a portable generator blew a tire. The trailer the generator was in overturned, ejecting the generator and spilling 120 gallons of fuel on the roadway.

Troopers closed the interstate so crews could clean up the fuel spill.

The FHP says the interstate has been reopened.
