Kathy Fountain is co-anchor of the FOX 13 News at 5 and host of "Your Turn" during the FOX 13 News at Noon. She joined the FOX 13 team in May of 1985.
Kathy graduated from Kathleen High School, Polk Community College, and then the University of Florida, where she was named "Outstanding Female Journalism Graduate." She holds a Master's Degree in mental health counseling.
Her first on-air television job was in Ft. Myers, Florida. After graduation, Kathy hosted P.M. Magazine at WZZM in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
When Kathy joined the FOX 13 team, she joined Ernie Lee on Breakfast Beat. Shortly thereafter, she became studio anchor for First News at 5 p.m.
In 1989, she became the host of The Kathy Fountain Show at FOX 13, which tackled provocative issues and revealed the personal side of celebrities. The show expanded its time slot from a half-hour program to an hour program. The Kathy Fountain Show ran until 1995.
Kathy has been honorary chairperson for March of Dimes Walk America since 1989. Kathy is a founding member of the Auxiliary for "The Spring," Hillsborough County's Domestic Violence Center. She is also on the board of "Resolve of Tampa Bay."
Kathy is a native of Lakeland, Florida. She is married to fellow news anchor Frank Robertson. Frank, Kathy, and their son reside in Tampa.
