It all started with a garage sale.
From there, the records just piled up.
On Thursday, Good Day’s Charley Belcher visited Banana’s Music, a company that started almost accidentally. And for owners Doug and Michelle Allen, it may have been the best accident ever to happen.
The couple used to work for corporations. Then one day they opened a bookstore in 1977. One day at a garage sale, everything changed.
Michelle wanted to buy a record, but the woman would only sell her a full rack.
So the couple bought the stack, and put them up for sale in the store. The rest is history. The stack sold like hotcakes, and the couple began focusing their business on selling vinyl records.
Get an inside look at this unique business that still to this day has success.
