It's like any board sport: skate boarding, wake boarding, surf boarding -- but it's different. Kids these days are "stoked" over skim boarding. This sport really catches on this summer on the Gulf beaches. Surf shops offer rentals, lessons, even camps.
Paulo Prietto, the three-time national skim board champion and two of his fellow pros conduct the "SOLAG Skim School" on Madeira Beach this weekend.
Paulo starts with the stance on the board then teaches everything from 360 rotations to special sprays. The motto: keep going... have fun... even when you wipe out!
