FOX 13 anchor Tom Curran

Good Day anchor

Tom Curran

Tom Curran is a co-anchor on FOX 13's Good Day Tampa Bay from 4:30 to 7 a.m. weekdays.  He joined the FOX 13 team in February of 1994.

Tom began his broadcasting career more than two decades ago at KEEN Radio in San Jose, California. For much of his career, Tom reported and anchored sports and also announced play-by-play action for the Sacramento Kings.

He was the sports director at KOVR in Sacramento. However, he had always longed to do what he has studied, news. Tom got his chance to do just that when he left the sports director's job at KOVR to become the main news anchor at KRBK, also in Sacramento.

Tom gained a reputation as a hard working and committed journalist in California's capitol city. But, he wanted new challenges in his career as a news anchor and reporter. He decided to move from a lifetime of work in sunny California to an even brighter future in sunny Florida.

Tom is the station's hockey nut. He has played and coached for many years, but now he is an on-ice official.

Tom was also diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and has become actively involved with both local and national efforts for fundraising. Tom says as long as he can skate he'll be beating the P.D.
