Upton nominated for MLB clutch performer

ST. PETERSBURG - Tampa Bay Rays Centerfielder B.J. Upton has been nominated for MLB clutch performer of the month.

The award, presented by Pepsi, recognizes the player who consistently performed at his best when the game was on the line during the month of June.

The five other nominees are:

• Josh Beckett, Boston Red Sox
• Andre Ethier, Los Angeles Dodgers
• Prince Fielder, Milwaukee Brewers
• Derrek Lee, Chicago Cubs
• Tim Lincecum, San Francisco Giants

Fans can vote for their pick online at pepsiclutch.mlb.com until July 7 at 1:59 p.m.  The winner will be announced on June 8.
