TAMPA - Talk about girl power: a group of women in the Tampa Bay area builds houses for Habitat for Humanity. It is an all-women team, making a difference in people's lives, and their story is What's Right with Tampa Bay.

Side by side, they hammer, they drill and they saw. Together, they are building a house for Habitat for Humanity. They are part of a group called Women Build -- all female crews who work for Habitat. Danni Slimmer is part of the crew.

"We've got some really great women building. It's very empowering," Danni says.

Denise Leblanc has been building homes with Habitat for Humanity for the past couple of years.

"I've had a good life. Now I'm retired, and here I am," Denise says.

She comes out three times a week to take part in the work.

"I enjoy the people and love to watch them. It's a wonderful experience," Denise says.

The group of women is good at what they do, and they rarely need a man's help -- maybe sometimes for heavy lifting. Ralph Jackson is the CEO of Habitat in Hillsborough County.

"My experience is when women are building, it comes out much better," Ralph said.
