PORT ST. LUCIE - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tallahassee says an Amber Alert issued regarding a missing girl in Port St. Lucie was a false report.
FDLE spokesman Mike Morrison said the agency is in the process of canceling the alert.
No futher details were immediately released Wednesday.
A message was left by The Associated Press with the Port St. Lucie Police Department.
Authorities initially reported that the girl was last seen wearing a blue skirt with a pink or purple shirt. Her name wasn't released. She was reportedly about 7 or 8 years old.
The Amber Alert also said the girl might be with two men possibly traveling in a white van.
