OCALA - One person was killed and another injured after plane crashed into a field in Ocala.
It happened around 12:30 Friday when a Cessna 340 Alpha was attempting to land at Ocala International Airport.
The pilot, 55-year-old Paul Allen Golson did not survive the crash, authorities said.
The passenger, 55-year-old Carol Golson, was pulled from the plane and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
They say the pilot last made contact with the airtower around at 12:26 p.m. to say he was coming in for a landing, and crashed shortly after that.
The sheriff's office said the plane ended up in a pasture in the area of SW 60th Avenue and 38th Street.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
